The Sunny 36th
Alderman Banks reflects on the state of the 36th Ward in this article. The pluses? The planned new library next to Dever, North Avenue beautification, large commercial developments (does he mean those ghastly behemoth condominium buildings on Harlem that consume the sidewalk and darken the street?), and strong sales at the Brickyard mall. On the negative side, he feels that property taxes are a double-edged sword and worries about the state of public transportation to our ward.
